SCORES FOR INTUITION I-IV
4-channel immersive installation, November 6 2017 – January 6 2018, Faces of Innovation exhibition, Expectrum, Västerås, SE
“Intuition is a feeling, which comes from total freedom. It is a new source.” (Axel Vervoordt)
The work Scores for Intuition I-IV came from a desire to build an incubator, a space of awakened creative silence that provides the conditions for a creative insight. It is a room where four separate videos are on display of which each has a specific intent. One person at the time can enter the room, in which an immersive 4-channel video installation is to be found. The visitor can choose how many videos and in what order she wants to play. Each video is about 6-6.5 minutes long and serves as a score to connect to your inner realm, dreaming, and intuitive knowing.
The first video is titled Focusing, the second Clearing, the third Awakening and the fourth Creating. They serve as the four cardinal points through which intuition can be addressed. Each video refers to one of the four basic elements of fire, water, air, and earth, as qualities that move our body and our dreaming. Through these videos Mala explores how Saphire® image exercises can facilitate an inner movement in the visitor that takes her into an awake, creative, and quiet inner state where she receives creative insights as a response to questions that matter to her. Clearing is about creating a quiet inner space where all the unnecessary clutter is cleared away. Focus is about finding the right question. Awakening triggers the inner flow of energy, from which new insights can arise. And Creating opens the potential always still unfinished space, in which new ideas and insights can emerge around her question in focus.
Visitors entering the installation are free to use it anyway they like so that they dive into deep time and arrive into the creative space of intuitive knowing.
