POETICS COURSES
RITUALS FOR HEALING – online research and creation course, 2/2 – 6/4/2023, Thursays 6:00-8:00pm
In this course we will focus on the research and creation of rituals for healing. We will explore what ritual is in diverse traditions and what is common , if there is something like a universal structure of a ritual, and how it brings about healing effects in the tissue of the living cosmos. We will look at how a particular ritual is built around a specific intent, uses specific tools and procedures, and happens as a specific score of actions generated by the intent. Exploring this through practice, we will experience how living with/through rituals makes us more present and perceptible to life and its forms, open to the space of potential, reconnected to the sacred. Ritual, if it is not just form, actually calls forth a presence, gathers powers, activates undoing, animates, energizes, initiates specific living processes to take place. It opens us into a direct exchange with life.
During 10 weeks the group will follow the performative score as a score of exchange based on question & answer procedure between the participants of the course. We will each develop a series of specific personal rituals, developed from your own performative practice, using your own performative language and tools to make them. These can be part of your creative process already or something you have been only intending to explore. Every week we will each bring a personal ritual to our weekly meeting so that others can witness it. It can be performed, shown, read live or presented as a video, sound or written recording. We will then each receive feed-back on our proposals and further questions and reflections on structure, tools, modes of engagement your rituals are proposing and the effects they seem to generate. We will employ dreams, dreaming, dream language, dream logic as a logic that is inherent to the world and as a way the soul of the world speaks.
If you have a creative transformative or healing practice you wish to develop further, a project you are currently working on, or an idea you entertain, you might want to jump on board. The course will facilitate the framework, in which you can alone and together with others cross-examine your work and your language in becoming and push you to touch upon a coming shore.

SCORING DREAMSCAPES – online course in English
This course is a further development of Poetics of the Imaginary course but focuses exclusively on your own writing, creative or reflective, and its performativity, weather fiction, drama, poetry, poetics, theory, essay, code or something else entirely. The aim is to write on a regular basis, share your written proposals, reflect on your writing practice, and so explore the forms of writing that emerge from dreaming, dream-scaping and scoring dreams, and which in complex ways convey the knowledge and the blue prints of the coming world. The group will follow the writing score as a score of exchange based on question & answer procedure between the participants of the course.
Departing from the notion of “dreamscapes” we will attend to and explore the current times and the potential realities that dwell latent in the present. To start off we will use imagery, waking and night dreaming. We will then meet weekly to read to each other the pieces of writing we will bring in and receive questions on the base of it from the others so as to give us a push to further our writing. In this feed-back loop we will continue to score scripts that re-imagine the world through the art of writing. We will do so while exploring and developing the emergent language embodied in the form of your writing. We will examine the modes of engagement your text is proposing and seek for the unclassifiable forms of readership. With the materials issued in this score we will produce a series of manifestos for the coming world as seen from diverse perspectives, practices and embodied in different languages.
If you have an idea you wish to develop, an open question or a text you are currently working on, you might want to jump on board. The course will facilitate the framework, in which you can alone and together with others cross-examine your work and your language in becoming and push you to touch upon a coming shore.

POETICS OF THE IMAGINARY – online course in English
In this course we will explore the emergent language embodied in your artistic form as well as in your writing about your own art, your own poetics. Like the specific hexagon shape of the honeycomb emerges due to the material conditions of wax and surface tension; What is then the singular artistic form that emerges and materialises from your artistic practice and its creative conditions? And what is the form of writing that emerges from the materiality of your embodied practice and conveys in a more complex way the knowledge gained through artistic endeavor and research?
If you have an idea you wish to develop, the artistic research you are currently conducting, the art project you’re presently working on, or the poetics you are currently writing, this just might be the course for you. It will facilitate the framework, in which you can alone and together with others cross-examine your artistic language in becoming, as well as the poetics of our own art making. It will offer tools to explore these through imagery, dream and writing exercises, as well as through reading and discussion of dream related texts.

What people say:
“Poetics of imaginary transported me into a wonderful world of images, bubbling up from different corners of my body, guiding and inspiring my creative process. I have never written a book before and the process helped me crystallise my ideas and structure for the book with a feeling of effortless flow. It felt softer, more intuitive, creative and explorative than a more rational and planning approach to writing that is more traditional in the research world. Even the people that somehow appeared in my dreamy images turned out to be the right collaborators that I needed to compose the project with. The course made me very curious to further explore how I can access, grasp, and use the wisdom and unconscious material hidden in me that I´m often not aware of in my daily life but can interestingly inform, and inspire my creative processes, especially if the process is facilitated as it was in this course by Mala.” Nina
“POTI challanged me to see my current art project from different perspectives and has given me support in reshaping the project into a dream work. As an artist i am often in a rush of “giving to the people” while this course helped me see that “receiving from people” is powerful mission if addressed as intention. Mala’s way of guidence led me in to vivid insights that have always been part of my inner realm, hidden knowledge that has awakened through structured and accurate process of choosen imagery scores. The course opened my mindset and the concept of the project into lively organism that is playful and joyful confronting the expectations of others or other production pressures. I am grateful for the lessons that most of all made me grow as a person.” Hana
“One of the most important things for me was the exercise to find our own egg – it reminded why I do what I do, and that is because of the feeling that occurs to me in the moment of creation or discovery. The egg exercise proposed: the feeling will guide you. I also appreciate a lot that Mala has reminded me to become aware of the principles, techniques and methods that organise my work. I am constantly balancing between wanting to define them and wanting to let them be unknown to me, as the map which I am constantly making. And finally, what I appreciate a lot is the way Mala weaves the culture and tradition into the personal, casting light on the universal in human nature and unveiling the most beautiful aspects of the tradition beyond ideology.” Nikola
